From the time I started Mavs in 6th Grade to the time I left for high school it was never about winning. It was all about becoming the best player and best person I could be. The coaches helped me prepare for the grind of a competitive LCC baseball program and gave me the confidence to perform at my best level in front of college coaches. I highly recommend the North County Mavericks travel ball program to any young grade school player who is serious about developing as an elite baseball player. Coach Marcelino and his staff do a first class job of instructing, teaching, and developing young players through high level practices and game competition. This is a great training ground and stepping stone to develop players preparing them for success at the higher levels of baseball. You cannot get a better youth baseball experience than the North County Mavericks.

Our son’s experience in the North County Mavericks program was extremely positive. The coaches provided him an environment to really learn and appreciate the game of baseball as he developed a true passion for the sport. The program focused on strong fundamentals and techniques which prepared him for the high school level and beyond. North County Mavericks stressed the importance of working hard in the classroom first and the true meaning of being a STUDENT athlete. Focus was first on grades, then baseball and always working hard to be your best on the field, in the classroom and as a person. Every practice and every game, there was discussion and coaching on how to work toward getting better every day in baseball, the classroom and in life. So many of those lessons transferred to other aspects of his development into the person and athlete he has become. We will always look back and be grateful for the groundwork that provided our son the ability to excel as a college student athlete.

Justin lead by example. He respected each player as an individual and then created an environment of respect and enthusiasm so the boys played as a team. Justin always communicated to the parents and players throughout the season so it was organized and pro. Justin is a remarkable young man and I am honored to be able to share my thoughts.

Joey Burke has been an integral part of my son’s training. Joey has a fantastic way of working with these kids and communicating in such a manner that the boys understand and follow through with his direction. Always has a smile on his face and a systematic love of baseball.

The North County Mavericks is an elite program that focuses on the development of skills that every ball player needs to succeed and get to the next level. When you get to the high school, college and professional level the skills and character that the MAVS coaching staff instill is what stands out not traveling to tournaments or wins and losses. The coaching staff has elevated my game and has allowed me to play with some of the best players in the world

The North County Mavericks was perfect for me to continue to develop as a baseball player. The high school and college level coaches pushed me to develop both the mental and physical side of baseball. The coaching staff was always positive and inspired me to continue working on baseball outside of designated practices. During my time with the Mavs, my passion for baseball skyrocketed. I always learned something new at every practice. The Mavs program taught me valuable insight both on offense and defense. Even the small things are huge. Playing for the Mavs has given me a lot of confidence in my baseball skills as I move on to high school. I could not have picked a better place to play baseball. I look forward to working with the program in teaching some of the new, younger Mavs players. I will always remember Mavs as my favorite baseball organization growing up and feel I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to play for them. GO MAVS!

Coach Marcelino is the best hitting coach I have worked with, his experience in pro ball makes him relatable and very knowledgeable. He not only helps me with the physical side of hitting but also the mental process. His professional approach to teaching is unparalleled to anyone else in the game.

My son Tyler was part of the NC MAVS for three years. Over those three years I saw my son grow in many different ways from learning to play the correct way to learning how to overcome the failures that baseball will put players through. The amazing staff mentored my son into a great young baseball player who is now a successful La Costa Canyon baseball player. The North County Mavs was the best choice for my son. Baseball tournaments aren’t going to help your baseball IQ the NC MAVS will.

As a parent and a Division 1 Baseball coach, I can tell you that the North County Mavs program is second to none! The Baseball experience is unreal, but the coaches and mentors for these young kids are off the chart! Unbelievable role models that teach LIFE LESSONS as well as the fundamentals of this great game. Working with Brad Marcelino and the MAVS, you get a professional baseball atmosphere to excel as well as coaches who provide high level instruction that genuinely care about you as a person and not just a player.

Coach Marcelino is one of the best baseball coaches I have had and he really helped elevate my game, and has given me lots of baseball knowledge which has lead me to be drafted in this year Major League Baseball draft. I wish I would have had Coach Marcelino as a coach when I was in Middle School or Junior High because he truly knows and respects the game of baseball. He is always willing to help and make sure players understand and leave practice knowing they got better on a daily basis.

Coach Marcelino has a very unique skill helping players adapt and make adjustments. He understands that baseball is a game of failure, so he turns our focus onto what we can control. He taught me that preparation leading up to games is what ultimately leads to results, rather than putting pressure on myself during the game. He helped me realize that baseball is ultimately just a game, and that the more fun I have, the more I can play to the best of my ability.
